Outlining Rules

1. Titles and subtitles are not part of the outline, but should be placed above it.

2. Roman numerals should be used for main topics.

3. Capital letters should be used for subtopics.

4. Arabic numerals should be used for tertiary topics.

5. Small letters should be used beneath arabic numerals.

6. For each letter or numeral there should be a topic.

7. There should always be more than one subtopic under a topic.

8. Subtopics should always be indented.

9.  Begin each topic with capital letters, even if not a full sentence.

10. Do not include intro/concluding points in the outline.
